Sanja Ristic is a Creative Producer, Artistic Director and Choreographer working at the intersection of movement, film, dance and live events. She is also a lecturer for Movement & Choreography at Stage Academy Zurich.
Her career spans more than 25 years across contemporary dance, television, film and immersive performance. In 1999, she joined the founding team of VIVA-SWIZZ, Switzerland’s first music television channel, as a presenter — shaping an early instinct for camera, rhythm, pop culture and visual storytelling.
She later expanded her artistic education in Berlin, training through open dance classes while gaining hands-on experience in dance theatre productions, before continuing to the United States with a summer semester at Berklee College of Music and extensive training within New York’s renowned open-class dance scene.
These formative years developed into an international career spanning Berlin, New York, Amsterdam and Munich, alongside years of touring as a dancer and performer — from contemporary dance festivals to major European theatre stages with Ecotopia Dance Productions.
During her Berlin years, she also worked as an assistant to acclaimed choreographer and director Constanza Macras / DorkyPark.
Sanja Ristic went on to create and produce her own dance theatre works, including Protect Me From Myself and Animal Instinct, developing the concepts, building creative teams and bringing the productions into the europeam festival and dance theatre scene.
